Tue 05 Aug 2008

Property developer Terrace Hill Group PLC have commissioned North East security systems integrator 2020 Vision Technology to implement a comprehensive CCTV surveillance system at their Baltic Business Quarter development located on the banks of the Tyne in Gateshead.

Baltic Business Quarter's 21 hectares of possibility and half a million square feet of office space provides a unique opportunity of international significance, a new office quarter for the city with all the space of an out of town Business Park.

Core to Terrace Hills plan was to create a pleasant, safe and secure environment in which people could enjoy work and leisure time, CCTV plays a major roll in ensuring these objectives.

The 'state of the art' system utilises the latest digital recording technology for optimum evidence gathering from a number of discrete colour/ mono switching dome cameras with full pan, tilt and zoom capability. Strategically located to provide real time proactive centralised management surveillance of the site, from the highly acclaimed Valleywatch CCTV control room in Gateshead's Team Valley.

Peter Houlis Managing Director of 2020 Vision said "CCTV now plays a major roll in urban regeneration. The use of effective, monitored cameras ensures any potential incidents spotted by operators can be dealt with both rapidly and with the appropriate response, whilst recorded images provide post incident investigative material."

Site Management agents DTZ have also commissioned 2020 Vision to implement security systems at Carillon PLC's Baltic Office development.
